Camp Counselor Jobs and Employment Opportunities

The Stevens Point Area YMCA – Camp Glacier Hollow offers a variety of summer camp opportunities for employment. Below are descriptions of positions. We are looking for staff that are responsible role-models, looking for a challenging and rewarding summer, creating memories that last a lifetime!

Camp is located 14 miles east of Stevens Point, WI on crystal clear spring-fed Lake Elaine. Over 100 acres of mixed forest, glacial ridges, and hollows make it an ideal setting for environmental education, teaching, and learning. Camp serves up to 175 total campers per week.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Positions will be filled as qualified applicants are identified with the intent that all positions will be filled by mid to late April 2022.

COUNSELOR/NATURALIST AND CAMP LIFEGUARD POSITIONS

Day Camp Counselors/Naturalists – responsible for carrying out overall camp program operations, teaching traditional camp and environmental education activities and camp counseling for the various Day Camps.

Resident Camp Counselors/Naturalists – responsible for carrying out overall camp program operations, teaching traditional camp and environmental education activities and camp counseling for the various Resident Camps.

Camp Lifeguard – responsible for maintaining safety during all waterfront-related program activities and swim periods for the various Resident and Day Camps.

LEAD & SUPPORT STAFF POSITIONS

Camp Coordinator – responsible for planning and leading general program operations, staff and camper supervision, office administration, camper files, record keeping, program schedule planning/organization, and camp programming – FILLED FOR 2022

LIT/CIT Coordinator – responsible for planning and leading LIT/CIT program operations including staff and LIT/CIT supervision, record keeping, program schedule planning/organization, and LIT/CIT programming – FILLED FOR 2022

Health and Office Coordinator – responsible for maintaining health and emergency contact forms, medication distribution, and providing First Aid as well as coordinating with the Camp Director and Camp Coordinator to assist in planning and leading general program operations, camper supervision, office duties, staff files, record-keeping, schedule coordination, waterfront supervision, kitchen support, and other duties as determined by the Camp Director – FILLED FOR 2022

Waterfront Director – responsible for the overall operation and supervision of the waterfront for both Day and Resident Camps – FILLED FOR 2022

Kitchen Manager/Cook – responsible for carrying out overall kitchen operations including meal planning, cooking 3 meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner), coordinating kitchen staff, food and supply ordering, general cleaning, washing dishes, and record keeping

Kitchen Assistant/Cook – responsible for assisting the Kitchen Manager/Cook in carrying out overall kitchen operations including meal planning, cooking 1-2 meals, general cleaning, washing dishes and record keeping.

House Keeping/Maintenance Staff – responsible for cleaning general areas (including bathrooms, kitchen, lodge and cabins) and general maintenance of camp equipment and facilities.
