The Glacier Hollow property has been operated as summer camp for over 50 years. It is located 14 miles East of Stevens Point in Central Wisconsin on crystal clear spring fed Lake Elaine, in the Village of Nelsonville. >>Map of Camp Glacier Hollow<<
The ecological diversity of its forests, wetlands, glacial ridges and hollows makes it an ideal camp setting for environmental education teaching and learning. Camp Glacier Hollow Summer Camp Programs are operated by the Stevens Point Area YMCA.
Campers stay in cabins built with lumber harvested on site. Camp has a log-style dining lodge and recreational center, a one-of-a-kind campfire gazebo, health lodge, modern bathroom facility with hot showers and flush toilets and a camp store.
The site covers 100 acres of woodland glacial ridges and hollows. A grass covered trail winds through the remaining undeveloped acres of woodland. The 15 acre lake is 30 feet deep in the center and has a gently sloping sand bottom swimming area. The camp also has a nature trail, challenge course, basketball and volleyball courts, softball diamond, archery & sling shot range and soccer field. The Tomorrow River is within walking distance.
