YMCA Camp Glacier Hollow Staff
Led by a full time professional leadership team - our staff are our most valuable asset. Camp staff are mostly college-aged with interests in environmental studies, teaching and other disciplines. We carefully select staff on the basis of good character, leadership, their ability to make sound decisions and provide campers with a meaningful and safe camp experience. All staff undergo higher standard Caregiver Background Checks and reference checks before being hired. Staff then participate in an extensive training that emphasizes child development. leadership and the safety and welfare of our campers. Did we mention our staff are fun, too? Camper-to-staff ratio averages 8 to 1 or better and we have a maximum of 65 campers in our largest program, so campers receive a personalized program and do not get lost in the group. Most staff are lifeguards and a certified first responder is on site at all times.
Camp Glacier Hollow is owned and operated by the Stevens Point Area YMCA under the direction of highly qualified professional YMCA staff.

Pete has been a professional Stevens Point Area YMCA staff member since 1998. He holds a degree from UW-Stevens Point in Natural Resource Management – Youth Agency Programming Camp Management and minors in Child & Family Services and Sociology. Pete has over 19 years of professional camp, child care and environmental education experience. He is responsible for the overall operations of YMCA Camp Glacier Hollow and serves as the Youth & Family Services Director overseeing all Child Care operations at the YMCA.
Kyle "Natureboy" Beach, Summer Camp Program Director
Kyle has been with the Stevens Point Area YMCA since 2010. He graduated from Alaska Pacific University with a Liberal Studies Degree focused on the History of Organized Camping in the United States. Having worked at four other YMCA Camps Kyle has over 10 years of experience in camp programming and environmental education. His primary job is the onsite direction of Glacier Hollow camp programs and also serves as the YMCA Teen Director during the school season.
