The Stevens Point Area YMCA - Camp Glacier Hollow offers a variety of opportunities for employment. Below are descriptions of employment positions. We are looking for staff that are responsible role-models that want to have a summer of challenging and rewarding experiences that leave you with memories that last a lifetime!
YMCA Camp Glacier Hollow Programs include; 7 weeks of week-long Resident Camps - Nature Quest Camps (coed-ages 8-14), Camp Wise Spirits (girls-ages 8-14), Timbertop Camp for Children with Learning Disabilities (coed-ages 9-13), and 3 Night Beginning Adventurers (coed ages 7-11); 12 weeks of Traditional Day Camp (coed-ages 7-13); 4 weeks of Adventure Backpacking, Canoeing/Kayaking, Caveing, and Rock Climbing Trips; a Counselors In Training program; and other general summer programs and activities.
Camp is located 14 miles east of Stevens Point on crystal clear spring-fed Lake Elaine. Over 100 acres of mixed forest, glacial ridges and hollows makes it an ideal setting for environmental education teaching and learning. Camp serves up to 100 total campers per week. 14 positions are available. Staff can commit from 10 to 13 weeks for the summer starting May 28 - August 31, 2013.

FULL-TIME EXEMPT POSITION
Position Full
This position is responsible for the development, organization, budget, delivery, supervision and quality of the Stevens Point Area YMCA Youth Recreation and Teen programs (including; Teen and Family Prime Time Centers, Teen Nights, Teen Leaders Club, Adventure Club, Girls Night Out, Youth In Government and various other teen programs) and Glacier Hollow Summer Camp (including; Resident and Day Camps, LIT/CIT Program and Teen Adventure Trips). Duties include program development, promotion, staff recruitment, supervision, leadership direction and evaluation of youth recreation and teen programs and services. Three months of summer camp on-site room and board provided and required. DAY CAMP POSITIONS
The Day Camp Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Summer Program Director with leading, planning, preparing, supervising, general program operations, and for camp counseling. Salary pay ranges $355-$360/week.
Day Camp Counselor/Naturalists are responsible for carrying out overall camp program operations, teaching traditional camp and environmental education activities and camp counseling for the various Day Camps. Salary pay ranges from $350-$355/week.
Adventure Trip Staff are responsible for assisting with leading, planning, preparing, general program operations, and camp counseling for the YMCA Adventure Trips. This staff will also serve as a resident and/or day camp counselor during any remaining summer weeks. Salary pay ranges from $235 - $245/week (room and board included) or $350 - $355 (no room and board).
Waterfront Director can serve in either a resident and/or day camp position. See Resident Camp positions for more information. Horsemanship Day Camp Counselors are responsible for carrying out overall camp program operations, teaching traditional camp activities, assisting with horsemanship lessons and camp counseling. Salary pay ranges from $350-$355/week.
Theatre Day Camp Counselors are responsible for carrying out overall camp program operations, teaching acting techniques and camp counseling. Salary pay ranges from $350-$355/week.
RESIDENTIAL CAMP POSITIONS
The Assistant Camp Program Director is responsible for assisting the Summer Program Director with leading, planning, preparing, supervising, general program operations, including health lodge management, and for camp counseling. The Resident Camp Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Summer Program Director with leading, planning, preparing, supervising, general program operations, and for camp counseling. Salary pay ranges from $245 - $255/week (room and board included).
The Waterfront Director is responsible for the overall operation and supervision of the waterfront. Counselor/Naturalists are responsible for carrying out overall camp program operations, teaching traditional camp and environmental education activities and camp counseling for the various Resident and/or Day Camps. Salary pay ranges from $240 - $250/week (room and board included) or $350 - $355 (no room and board).
Adventure Trip Staff are responsible for assisting with leading, planning, preparing, general program operations, and camp counseling for the YMCA Adventure Trips. This staff will also serve as a resident and/or day camp counselor during any remaining summer weeks. Salary pay ranges from $235 - $245/week (room and board included) or $350 - $355 (no room and board).
Resident Camp Counselor/Naturalists are responsible for carrying out overall camp program operations, teaching traditional camp and environmental education activities and camp counseling for the various Resident and/or Day Camps. Salary pay ranges from $235 - $245/week (room and board included).
Jr. Resident Camp Counselor/Naturalists are responsible for assisting with general camp program operations, traditional camp and environmental education activities and camp counseling for the various Resident Camps. Salary pay is 210/week (room and board included).
SUPPORT STAFF POSITIONS The Camp Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance of camp facilities and equipment, grounds care, housekeeping, and environmental issues. Pay ranges from $10.00 – $12.00 per hour. The House Keeping/Maintenance Staff is responsible for cleaning general areas (including bathrooms, kitchen, lodge and cabins) and general maintenance of camp equipment and facilities. Pay ranges from $7.50 – $8.00 per hour. Kitchen Supervisor/Cook is responsible for carrying out overall kitchen operations including cooking at least two meals (breakfast, lunch or dinner), coordinating cook staff, food and supply ordering, general cleaning, dishes and record keeping. Additional duties may include camp program support. Hourly Pay ranges from $8.25 – $9.00.
Cook is responsible for cooking one meal (typically dinner, but is based on the Kitchen Supervisor schedule), general cleaning and dishes. Hourly pay ranges from $7.50 – $8.25.
