    EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES   
The Stevens Point Area YMCA - Camp Glacier Hollow offers a variety of opportunities for employment.  Below is a general description of employment positions.  We are looking for staff that are responsible role-models that want to have a summer of challenging and rewarding experiences that leave you with memories that last a lifetime!  PDF links are available for specific job announcement/descripitions.
 
YMCA Camp Glacier Hollow Programs include; 7 weeks of week-long Resident Camps - Nature Quest Camps (coed-ages 8-14), Camp Wise Spirits (girls-ages 8-14), Timbertop Camp for Children with Learning Disabilities (coed-ages 9-13), and 3 Night Beginning Adventurers (coed ages 7-11); 12 weeks of Traditional Day Camp (coed-ages 7-13); 4 weeks of Teen and Adult Backpacking, Canoeing, and Rock Climbig Trips; a Counselors In Training program; and other general summer programs and activities.  
 
Camp is located 14 miles east of Stevens Point on crystal clear spring-fed Lake Elaine.  Over 100 acres of mixed forest, glacial ridges and hollows makes it an ideal setting for environmental education teaching and learning.  Camp serves up to 100 total campers per week. 
 
16 positions are available.  Staff can commit from 8 to 13 weeks for the summer starting May 29 - August 30, 2008.
 
DAY CAMPS
Day Camp Program Coordinator (Position Filled)    
The Day Camp Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Summer Camp Director with leading, planning, preparing, supervising, general program operations, and for camp counseling.
 
Day Camp Counselor/Naturalist (Positions Filled) 
Day Camp Counselor/Naturalists are responsible for carrying out overall camp program operations, teaching traditional camp and environmental education activities and camp counseling for the various Day Camps.
 
RESIDENTIAL CAMPS
The Summer Camp Director is responsible for the development, preparation and implementation of the Stevens Point Area YMCA Camp Glacier Hollow programs.  Duties include precamp promotion; program development; staff recruitment, supervision and evaluation; camp safety management; camper management; camp health services management; overall general program operations; and occasional camp counseling.
 
The Resident Camp Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Assistant Summer Camp Director with leading, planning, preparing, supervising, general program operations, and for camp counseling. 
 
The Waterfront Director is responsible for the overall operation and supervision of the waterfront.  Resident Camp Counselor/Naturalists are responsible for carrying out overall camp program operations, teaching traditional camp and environmental education activities and camp counseling for the various Resident and/or Day Camps.
 
(1 Male Position Available as of May 15) 
Adventure Trip Staff are responsible for assisting with leading, planning, preparing, general program operations, and camp counseling for the YMCA Adventure Trips.  This staff will also serve as a resident and/or day camp counselor during any remaining summer weeks.
 
(1 Female Position Available as of May 15) 
Resident Camp Counselor/Naturalists are responsible for carrying out overall camp program operations, teaching traditional camp and environmental education activities and camp counseling for the various Resident and/or Day Camps.
 
Kitchen Supervisor/Cook (Position Filled) 
Kitchen Supervisor/Cook is responsible for carrying out overall kitchen operations including cooking two meals(breakfast and lunch), coordinating cook staff, food and supply ordering, general cleaning, dishes and record keeping.  Additional duties may include camp program support.
 
Part Time Cook (Position Filled) 
Cook and/or Dishwasher is responsible for cooking one meal (dinner), general cleaning and dishes.
