2009 Adventure Trips  
Teens can safely go beyond their backyard and experience the wilderness adventure of a lifetime!  Participants will become students of the wilderness, addressing YMCA values, developing appreciation and respect for the environment, learning specific outdoor skills, improving teamwork and leadership skills, building self-confidence, creating friendships and having an outrageous time.  All expeditions are thoroughly planned and led by experienced staff with advanced safety certifications.  Experience is not necessary on most trips.  Register early, trips are limited in size and fill quickly.  Typical Teen Trip arrival is at 1:30pm on the first day and pick-up is at 7:00pm on the last day.  All trips include food, permits and camping fees, special equipment (climbing, canoeing/kayaking, backpacking and camping), transportation, professional staff and fun.

Devil’s Lake Rock Climbing and Caving Adventure
(ages 12-15) - June 28 - July 3   
 
Experience the excitment of rock climbing at one of the premeir climbing areas in the Midewest.  No climbing experience is required. Three days will include as much climbing as the group wants mixed with hiking, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and just plain having fun.  We will also spend one day getting down and dirty by crawling through a guided cave.  The first night will be spent at Camp Glacier Hollow.  This trip is guaranteed to make everyone feel good about their accomplishments.  On Belay!  This trip is lead by the Camp Director.  Early pick-up is available for families trying to get an earlier start for the July 4th weekend.

Flambeau Whitewater Paddle & Rock Climb
(ages 13-16) - July 5-10 
One day of outdoor rock climbing and four days of whitewater canoeing down the Flambeau River State Forest!  Considered one of the finest river trips in the Midwest, the Flambeau offers a unique combination of quiet paddling and safe, yet heart-pounding whitewater.  We will spend two nights at Camp and three nights camping in the Flambeau River State Forest.  Hold on!  We are Wave n’ & Rock n’!  Scheduled drop-off time is 5:00pm on Sunday.  A later drop-off is available for families coming back later after the July 4th weekend.

Porcupine Mountains Backpacking
(ages 13-16) - July 26-31
Spend six days hiking through towering virgin timber, viewing breathtaking summits and relaxing among the
 
many rivers and lakes of the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park along Lake Superior in Upper Michigan.  Hikers will spend a few hours at Camp Glacier Hollow team building and packing up then we hit the road hiking.  Load’em up!
